Italy is well known for its wide, exquisite, and delicious meals it has to offer. The most difficult thing about eating in Italy is that it’s really hard to try everything. So, In this article, I have tried to narrow it down to a few must-have dishes in Italy and exactly where to look for them.

Pizza

The list has to start with the iconic dish of Italy: Pizza. Lasagna

Now, Lasagna is another one of those dishes that’s a must-try in Italy, Now Lasagna has many versions throughout the world the one that I am referring to is Lasagna Alla Bolognese i.e., from Bologna in the region of Emilia-Romagna, Lasagna Alla Bolognese is also known as Lasagna of Italy. The best place to get Lasagna is from you guessed it, Bologna. Bologna is the capital and largest city of the Emilia-Romagna Region in Northern Italy.

Bottarga

Bottarga is the Italian word for salted, cured fish roe. This is one of those dishes that originated in Italy. Bottarga is mostly made with the roe of grey mullet. This is the most refined and expensive one and, due to its golden or amber color, is often called ‘Sardinia’s gold’. The best-known version is produced around the Mediterranean.

Ribollita

Ribollita originated in Italy, it’s a famous Tuscan bread soup. a hearty thick soup made with bread and vegetables. There are many variations but the main ingredients always include leftover bread, cannellini beans, lacinato kale, cabbage, and some other common vegetables. For the best ribollita experience, you must visit Florence.

Fiorentina Steak

The Fiorentina or bistecca alla Fiorentina is an Italian steak made of veal It is one of the most popular dishes of Tuscan cuisine. there are some variations on the Florentine steak, Whichever variation you get, this is a dish to be eaten exclusively in Tuscany – either in Florence or the countryside. If you get it from Florence which is also the best place to get ribollita, you can indulge yourself with some ribollita Fiorentina, a specialty only to be found in Florence.
